notjust Reveals ARRON BURTON - Menswear Designer
notjust - "Arron, Introduce yourself."
Arron - "Names Arron Burton, 22 just graduated from MFI studying Menswear - my roots are in Wales but moved to Manchester for more freedom and change. Before I moved I started curating my signature design approach which gave me the balls to leave my hometown and develop my skill into a career progression and keep my integrity on a level - which ended up being menswear. I chose Manchester to study as everyone here is straight up and real which is the way I've always been [and Ian Curtis was born here and that's enough to move up North.]"
notjust - "From watching you online for a little while now, its apparent your strictly Black & White in your approach to your online presence, the fashion you design is ALL black if I'm correct? and you even dress in all black to! Great consistency, but Why?"
Arron - "My approach to black and white has become my own language through my dedication and commitment - I feel black portrays the legacy and authenticity I'm pushing out there. Wearing black has given me strength and has developed into my armour. [..I lie the main reason is if I get ash on my top from my cigarette it ain't problem ha.]"
notjust - "So, fashion design.. Such an incredible collection you have produced! Did you expect you would ever produce such a great work when starting out your journey?"
Arron - "Nice one lad, to be fair I always knew with my high standards regardless what I'm going to produce 1. It's going to be all black, and unusual, 2. I'll do whatever it takes to get the high quality leathers + wool and put my take on them - don't get me wrong you don't have to get the high quality fabrics to produce usual and high end designs it's how you find lower quality fabrics and make them interesting, otherwise black wool will become another ordinary black suit - and you won't be getting an average suit from my studio."
notjust - "We get a gist of what style your putting out there with your pieces, but just to clarify from the man himself, Do you have a process on how you achieve the end result, or steps you make sure to take/not to take?"
Arron - "The approach I take with my work is all down to planning with trial and error - I know what I like, and I like to do things to my supreme ability - I try not to force my design process or go by trends. My approach of tailoring isn't your normal approach of traditional menswear, I produce garments with an installation format turning them into unconventional pieces which can be archived. I'd say I work backwards, which sets me from the rest."
notjust - "Fashion is one form of Art, which other discipline could you find yourself situated in?"
Arron - "I couldn’t see myself in anything else unless it was architecture – having freedom is important for my drive and authority and I get that with what I do. My main aim is to produce a studio in Manchester / London which showcases the collections I produce and artefacts produced by curators and artists whom signify what I represent and what my label represents."
"Day to day people lack control of the long term effects of the actions and movements they take in their lives - and I've always told myself to take control of right now for my future self. "
"CONCENTRATE ON YOURSELF AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW - ARRON BURTON"
